ESDM Canada is thrilled to be part of the clinical team working to develop a parent coaching program for the 3-year research project being led by Dr. Pat Mirenda at the University of British Columbia (UBC). Co-investigators on the project are Dr. Paola Colozzo from UBC and Dr. Veronica Smith from the University of Alberta.
The Parent and Child Early (PACE) Coaching Project is working to identify best practices for parents to use to support their young child showing red flags for Autism Spectrum Disorder. ESDM Canada is excited to have the opportunity to train parent coaches working with families of young children across the province of BC. Development of the training curriculum will involve collaboration and consultation with Dr. Sally Rogers and Dr. Laurie Vismara and will utilize various ESDM components as suited to the specific needs of this project.
Dates for the PACE training workshops are only available to those who have already been identified as part of the PACE project. ESDM Canada hopes that the training program developed for this research project will be available at a later date for those wanting to support families with young children who have ASD through a parent coaching model. Please Stay Tuned and Contact Us if you would like to be updated should any future opportunities arise.
