Michaela has been supporting families living with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in their home, school, and community environments since 1997. She has spent her professional, educational, and research endeavours learning about, examining, and contributing to research evidence to effectively support children and youth with developmental disabilities including ASD. She believes strongly in fully including all children and youth in their community environments; family-centred supports; and individualizing plans to meet the needs of children and their families. Michaela is an ESDM certified trainer, a behaviour consultant, a parent coach, the autism outreach coordinator for MCFD in BC, and a mother of 2 girls. She is currently enrolled in a PhD program where she is deepening her understanding about parent coaching; she loves empowering caregivers to effectively support their young children. Michaela is delighted to be part of ESDM Canada.
Janet strongly believes parents are both the experts and critical lifelong advocates for their children. She has worked with children and their families in many parts of BC for over 30 years. She is in full-time private practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist and Board Certified Behaviour Analyst in Duncan. The focus of ESDM in building relationship and engagement as well as integrating therapy goals into activities that are motivating, meaningful, and developmentally appropriate for the child is a perfect fit for her. Janet is passionate about the parent coaching component of the ESDM and how it furthers a family-centered and collaborative team approach to address and support the unique needs of each child and family. Janet is thrilled to be part of the ESDM Canada team and work with such dedicated colleagues.

ESDM Canada is a team of professionals motivated to assist children and families living with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) to access the ESDM model of early intervention. We have each taken individual journeys to become certified ESDM trainers; our shared enthusiasm about the ESDM and Natrualistic Developmental Behavioural Interventions (NDBIs) has brought us together as a team. Collectively and individually, we are delighted to collaborate and support each other. We strive to bring our knowledge of ESDM and NDBIs to other professionals wanting to learn more about how to effectively support young children and families to be their best. All ESDM Canada team members are MCFD Registry of Autism Service Providers (RASP) professionals.
